Plugin customization

A plugin almost fits? Then I customize it for your shop.

Often a plugin covers almost everything, and only a few details are missing: another field, a different condition, an additional export. Then I add exactly that instead of developing everything from scratch. You build on something that already runs in many shops.

Why customize

Customize instead of rebuilding.

An existing plugin brings a lot that a new development would first have to create.

1

Proven foundation

The plugin already runs in other shops. Its core function has proven itself in daily use, and you don’t start from zero.

2

Less effort

Only what you are missing gets developed. Everything else is already there: Administration, settings and translations.

3

Updates continue

The plugin keeps being maintained and adapted for new Shopware versions. I plan your addition so that it survives updates.

Typical requests

What can be customized in a plugin.

Most customizations fall into four groups. It is almost always a detail that makes the difference for your process.

Maybe the plugin can already do it.

My plugins often have more settings than you see at first glance. Many of them have their own website with a manual and all settings. Ask me before ordering a customization: sometimes a checkbox is all it takes.

  1. 01

    Additional fields and details

Another input field in a form, an additional column in an export, a new detail on the product or the order.

  2. 02

    Other rules and workflows

A condition the plugin does not know yet, an additional step or a notification in another place.

  3. 03

    Display in the shop

The plugin should blend into your theme, appear in another place or show content differently.

  4. 04

    Connection to your systems

Data from the plugin should go to your ERP system, your accounting or another tool.

Process

How a customization works.

From the first message to the finished addition there are four steps. You know in advance what you will get.

  1. 1

    Plugin and request

You tell me which plugin you use, what is missing and what you need it for, ideally with an example.

  2. 2

    Check

I look at whether there is already a setting for it and how the addition fits cleanly into the plugin.

  3. 3

    Quote

You receive a quote for exactly this addition. What we agree on is what gets built.

  4. 4

    Implementation and test

I implement the customization and test it in a copy of your shop before it goes live.

What shop owners say about customizations.

The reviews are translated from German.

“Support is immediate and excellent, and customizations for individual requirements are made as well, or tips are given for very specific requirements.”

FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

Your question isn’t listed? Give me a call or send me a short message about what you need.

Which plugins do you customize?

Mainly my own from the Shopware Extension Store. I know their structure in detail and know where an addition fits in cleanly.

Can you customize plugins from other vendors?

Only reluctantly. I have high standards for plugins: a clean structure, no changes to Shopware’s files, tests, and settings instead of fixed values. Plugins from other vendors often don’t meet these standards, and I can’t vouch for code I did not write myself. Besides, the vendor’s next update would overwrite any direct change. If it has to be done anyway, I add the feature with a small plugin of my own that builds on the other one, or we ask the vendor whether they will add it themselves. Often one of my plugins or a custom development is the better way.

Will my customization survive updates?

Yes. I implement customizations so that an update of the plugin does not overwrite them. We discuss which approach fits before I start.

What do you need for a request?

The name of the plugin, the address of your shop, the Shopware version and a short description of what is missing. A screenshot or an example helps. Please don’t send passwords.

What if a customization cannot be done cleanly?

Then I tell you beforehand and suggest another way: a setting in the Shopware standard, another plugin or a custom development.

Which plugin should I customize?

Tell me the plugin and what is missing. I will check whether there is already a setting for it and otherwise send you a quote for the customization.
